NEW Portrait Packages - Effective 4/5/11

I'm proud of the fact that quality remains my number one priority, that is on top of making my clients happy.  In doing so, I felt that I should make the prints the best they can be, not only in color/contrast, but also in finish.  This new set of packages includes a lustre coating and texture finish, which helps protect your prints from fingerprints and adds quality to the print.  As always, all images 11 x 14 size and over will be mounted either by double mat board or stand out mount.  Another option is the canvas gallery wrap.  This makes your portrait literally a work of art, with a painting feel.

In addition to quality additions, I also created new package collections, to reflect my clients' varied interests as well as my focus on newborn photography.  If you are a person that prefers large wall portraits over lots of smaller prints, the Wall Lover's Package is perfect for you!  If you have a newborn session with me, I have my Newest Arrival Packages, which feature 25 announcements, offered in many shapes and sizes and is double UV coated.  You will also receive an 8 x 10 or 10 x 8 hardcover album which will feature all of your images, set in complimentary collages on 10 pages (20 sides).  These great features accompany a large wall portrait and several smaller prints, plus as always, the DVD with low/high resolution images.

Please check out my newest packages and let me know what you think!

Cuddle Critter Capes Newborn Session

As I promised, there are several new crochet newborn props in the Cuddle Critter Capes line that are available for your newborn to be photographed in!  These capes are very unique and are mainly used with the newborn in an on-tummy position.  The hats and capes can be separated or switched to offer versatility.  (For example: the ladybug cape can be paired with its own hat or the black bee hat)  Also, since the cape part just rests on the back, they are very easy to change out if you choose to have your newborn photographed in more than one cape set.

I will be photographing 2 newborns in the upcoming 2-3 wks wearing these products and will share those portraits so you can get an idea of how cute they look on newborns!

These portrait products will be available year-round for portrait sessions but I am offering a special deal to those that have a session between April and end of June 2011.  If you have a Cuddle Critter Cape Newborn Session between April and June 30th, you will receive  15% off any print package!  As always, you will also receive a DVD with all fully-edited portraits, both low and high resolution as well as a print release form to print as many as you choose.

These products were created by Calleigh's Clips.  Please visit her Facebook website: http://www.facebook.com/Calleighsclips to see all of her wonderful, well-made crocheted products!  I've been a customer of hers for close to a year and think she gives wonderful customer service and her products are high in quality!  She will also custom make an item to fit your needs/color desires.

We will be premiering more critters in the near future, so please say tuned!

My NEW Look!

I've discovered my new and improved logo! As I gradually move my business towards the following genres: maternity, newborn, babies, and children, I felt that I needed to have my brand reflect the sweetness, bright, happy faces I photograph! I would like to thank my friend Tiffany Kelly for coming up with the sweet slogan! (Capturing the cuties that capture your heart)  Throughout the weekend, I will continue to transform my website and blog to match my new look. I'm very excited to see how things grow over the rest of my first year and I thank all my wonderful friends, family, and clients for your support!

Springtime Newborn Critter Portraits

As spring approaches and the little nature critters begin to appear, so does the opportunity for wonderful springtime portraits! I (and my photography prop vendor - Calleigh's Clips) are currently in the process of introducing a line of crochet newborn photography props that will transform your sleeping little newborn into a cuddly, precious woodland critter! Bunnies, ladybugs, bumblebees, hedgehogs, skunks, turtles, snails, butterflies, oh my! The list goes on and will grow as I add to my collection. In the near future, I will be offering a special that will last between April-late June so please keep an eye out for that and if you know anyone that is due in that timeframe, please send them my way! I would love to broaden my newborn portfolio as I plan to narrow my specialization into that genre in the near future. Thank you!

My Inspiration

All photographers have someone that inspired them into photography.  In my case, it is Anne Geddes.  Long before I even had the desire to pursue photography I would gaze at her work in awe.  She pretty much pioneered the art of newborn photography.  The combination of her photography technique as well as her digital editing techniques transform the tiniest of newborns into peaceful, sweet slumbering babies, nestled in flowers, soft cloth, baskets, etc.  She also has a remarkable touch with her maternity photography.  Pregnancy and the newborn stage of infancy is such a beautiful, precious time.  It is also a very unique style of photography.  I love how the sessions are so laid back and it helps me concentrate on getting the best images I possibly can.  I constantly research different styles and ideas to use in my work using not only Anne but other newborn photographers as well.

Ruby Family Portrait Sneak Peek

I had such a wonderful time with this wee little one!  He's 3 months old and behaved SO well during the entire session.  And, he has the most beautiful blue eyes!  He was simply a joy to work with.  Here are just a few of the many portraits I shot in this session.

What a difference a year makes!

It's so great to visit old friends and see how much they change through the years.  The same thing can be said about your own clients.  The twins I photographed this time last year are now a year old!  Just as they were starting their life, I was starting mine in photography.  Their newborn portrait from our first session (the one featured below) was awarded the highest honor of Golden Gallery Award at my graduation in July.  It remains to be one of my all time favorite portraits.  I did so many newborn portrait sessions during my time in school and continue to do so.  I've said this many times before, but I really truly enjoy photographing newborns and hope one day to specialize in only newborn and maternity photography.  Thank you to the Dils family for giving me such beautiful subjects to photograph!
